Back in my day we had to get our Internet at the village Internet well. I remember the dialup modem noises it made as you pulled the bucket up.
I remember my first Slackware installation from a pile of floppy disks!
I also remember that nothing worked after the installation, I had to figure out how to roll my own kernel and compile all the drivers. Kids today have it too easy.

IMO There are a few (not so great) options.
Cider is a decent alternative, especially for local files.
You can also use Apple’s web player for anything there.
Some other (even worse) options are windows VM, or WINE.
There was no “after”. He got trolled the entire time.
And yeah, he’s always weird.

As things progress, I get more and more afraid. But, I mean, he even wants to remove fluoride from drinking water.

Late to the party, but what was your solution OP?
I’m currently weighing my options, that’s how I found this post :)
I run it on iOS and Mac OS (sometimes Linux), but the problem only seems to be with desktop client.
However, there was update yesterday and now the issue is resolved. Not sure if that was the fix or something else changed, but for now I’m good.
I actually went with proton, but it’s blocking so many things! Apple Music being the big one.
Might have to go back to Nord :(
Thanks for the input! I was leaning towards Proton already, just wanted to see if there might be something else I didn’t know about.
