Is there life after death? Yes, there is Second Life!
Say hello to Yet Another Linus Thorvalds Android, or YALTA for short. Name was decided upon at a conference. It was the compromise option, but remember that Android (and now, also androids) are technically still Linux (and now, also Linus).
Drawing directly on the desktop is a native feature of KDE Plasma. :)
This looks so good!
I’m happy about the dedicated animations settings page. It would be great, however, if we could adjust the animation speed of each one individually, though.
Use OBS for streaming. It’s a great FOSS piece of software. You generally don’t stream your whole desktop, but instead make a composite of different sources, such as different windows. Start experimenting with it if, if you want to start streaming soon. Same for you, @boredsquirrel@slrpnk.net!
And besides QMMP, Audacious also traces its code roots back to XMMS.
I don’t know. Try visualising him with Milkdrop.
While I was still on Windows, the killer feature that kept WinRar installed, instead of only using 7zip, was the simple fact that its file explorer supported hotkeys like Ctrl+C, and that you could seamlessly copy files to and from Windows’ file explorer.
ISPs give special preference to speedtest.net, so that their metrics will look better. Which means it rarely reflects actual reality. Theres a good chance this test is closer to the actual speeds you’re getting everywhere but on speedtest.net.
I was using Winamp right up until I made the switch to Linux last year.
Fortunately, Audacious can use Winamp skins, too, so I’ve still got that Winamp 2.x classic look going.
I’m not actually sure I understand it. What about Mint is easier or more user friendly than say, a Fedora spin?
And if having that decanonicalized Ubuntu base is important, then why not install Tuxedo OS instead? Plasma is by far the most Windows-like DE in my experience, and it is more developed and featureful. Cinnamon, as I understand it, is still stuck in X11 land, which is less secure, and only in maintenance mode.
