All the ones I’ve found are dead or quiet.

      Well, I was saying you don’t have to be a mod. If we look at examples beyond “alt” communities, [email protected] 's main poster isn’t a mod. Likewise, [email protected] 's most frequent poster isn’t a mod either.

      It doesn’t have to be hard work. Just pick a couple communities and start engaging at the level you’re comfortable with.

        I don’t want to have to deal with the mod stuff, exactly like OP said. I’m just here to promote owls, conservation, and wildlife rehab. I do have a great mod that lets me do pretty much anything I want and will do stickies and banner changes and such for me, and I just keep giving good content.
