So I was just messing around in the steam app and I came across steam points. Are these new? It seems to indicate I can use them for games but I don’t see any options. I have a quarter of a million of them. Are they useful in any way?

You can use them in the points shop to purchase profile customizations and badges to boost your steam level. After every seasonal sale I dump all the points I get into badges. Up to level 45 now!
I didn’t know you can buy badges with those points. Thanks.
…and what does level 45 get you?
Bigger chance to get free booster drops. Which you can use to craft more badges or to sell off. Got a handful of games that way.
Bragging rights? A tiny hit of dopamine? Idk it literally doesn’t matter, just a number on a profile.
