    BRICS+

For when you don’t want to say “coalition of authoritarian dictatorships”…

BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprising ten countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRICS

Brazil is the odd man out, but they’re actively fighting against expanding BRICS and honestly I think the only reason they haven’t left is it’s essentially free for them.

Russia, China, Indonesia, Egypt, and Iran are all authoritarian countries.

Brazil is the odd man out,

I thought the context made it clear that the rest are authoritarian dictatorships…

Let’s start with the three big ones though:

        Russia, India, China

Pick any of the three and say it’s not an authoritarian dictatorship in 2025.

That will help steer rational people away from your community and instance in general.

To clarify, you are saying that Modi’s India isn’t an authoritarian dictatorship in your eyes?

Modi has been elected as the PM…

It’s not Modi’s India… You have no idea of the opposition over here…

If Russia is part of this “Global South” then you might as well include all of eastern Europe.

The idea of categorizing countries by their economic and developmental status began during the Cold War with the classifications of East and West. The Soviet Union and China represented the East, and the United States and their allies represented the West. The term Third World came into parlance in the second half of the twentieth century. It originated in a 1952 article by Alfred Sauvy entitled “Trois Mondes, Une Planète”.[22] Early definitions of the Third World emphasized its exclusion from the east–west conflict of the Cold War as well as the ex-colonial status and poverty of the peoples it comprised.[22]

        So…

They wanted to replace 1st, 2nd, and 3rd world to segregate countries based on economys…

But didn’t want to say that’s what they were doing, so picked a random name that doesn’t make logical sense?

Yeah, this is definitely a .ml thing

To be fair, it’s a UN definition. Confusing and unintuitive, but not a failure of the OP.

What’s an issue is that they try to say BRICS==Global South. That’s a big mistakes
